Techsol Designs just completed another challenging project where in we implemented a wordpress blog to an existing Ruby on Rails website. The wordpress blog theme was custom developed using a child theme to the Hybrid Theme and was made to match the original site pixel by pixel to maintain a seamless user experience.
The main website had three different headers for user states of Guest/Employer/Job seeker and the wordpress blog theme was coded to handle this. Though no blog authentication feature is set up, parameters are passed from the main site to the wordpress blog to determine user logged in / out status and type of user. The main challenges here were that the main site was hosted on a different server from the wordpress blog thereby breaking sessions. We were able to overcome all difficulties in the implementation to achieve the desired result.
